pizza-hut-cheeseNEW YORK — Pizza Hut is giving math lovers the chance to win 3.14 years of free pizza on March 14, also known as Pi Day.

The pizza company is hosting an online challenge to celebrate National Pi Day.

Pizza Hut partnered up with Princeton University math professor John H. Conway to create three questions. The difficulty of the questions will range from high school to Ph.D. level.

“Pi may be irrational, but free pizza is anything but,” said Conway. “I’m eager to challenge America with these problems and find the next great pizza-loving mathematician that can solve them.”

The math problems will be posted Monday at 8 a.m., to the Pizza Hut blog. The first person to correctly answer the questions will win 3.14 years of free pizza.

The retail value of the prize is approximately $1,600. It will be given to the winner in the form of Pizza Hut gift cards.

There is no purchase necessary to participate in the contest. Participants must be 18 years of age or older.
